Vintage.

Tuesday, 16 September 2014

Hello everyone! So recently i've discovered my new love for vintage shopping. Theres something incredibly satisfying about remerging around a shop where you know each item is a piece of history in itself. So last sunday, Max and I headed out to see what hidden gems we could find, so we decided to take a few pictures and share our afternoon with you all!

So the first shop we went into was called "Vintage", original I know. It's basically a huge store packed full of absolutely everything and anything you could ever imagine. It's not exactly the tidiest, or cleanest shop I've ever been in, so its definitely not the place to be if your a neat freak! Luckily, and I think my mum will agree with me, I'm definitely not the tidiest person so I don't mind the mess haha! Although I do think thats one of the glories of vintage shopping, the thin layer of dust over hundreds of old records from the 60's adds to the atmosphere, It would't be the same experience if everything was colour co-ordinated on rails in size order.

Over the past few weeks I have honestly found some amazing bargains, so even though you might think a place looks like a dump, don't judge a book by its cover, take a look and you never know what your going to find.

I thought I would throw a quick OOTD in here too, even though I've filmed one on my youtube channel here! My grey tunic is from Topshop which I paired with my faux fur gilet from Zara! A simple, easy autumnal outfit! For the rest of the day we found this amazing hot chocolate place and then a book stall which was actually really interesting! I really enjoyed the change of scenery and doing things which I wouldnt particularly always do, change is good!

Thats a wrap for now! Love Nina xxx

Five Current Beauty Favourites.

Tuesday, 9 September 2014

Hello everyone! I thought today I would share a few of my favourite beauty products that I have been using over the past few weeks. Most of them I purchased after over spending in Sephora when I was over in Florida at the beginning of August, so I was so excited to try them all out when I got back home. The majority I enjoyed using, however I cherry picked my favourite 5, so here we have the creme de la creme of my beauty picks!

So first we have what I have been using as my base over the past few weeks, the "Makeup Forever HD foundation" after hearing the raving reviews from every American YouTuber, when I made a trip to Sephora I just had to try it out. So, I know what your thinking, what do I think? Well, I could not agree more with the reviews. It is a medium to high coverage foundation with a very thick consistency which I wasn't too keen on at first, however it doesn't apply cakey at all, if you apply too much it could come across that way, yet I only use one and a half pumps and it blends out so seamlessly creating a flawless complexion. Oh, and before I forget to mention I use the shade N120.

Next up is my new holy grail concealer, rather big statement I know, the "Tarte Marajuca Creaseless Concealer" is the first ever product I have tried from "Tarte" again after hearing rave reviews about the brand I had to pick up something from the line, I was tempted to pick up one of the clay blushes, but I was coming to the end of my "Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer" and fancied a change. Again the formula is nothing like I have ever used before, it has an incredibly thick consistency but used in the right way it can look amazing. I use the tinniest amount on my finger then blend away on any imperfections I may have that day. Its great because if you have a large problem area this concealer will cover it no problem, yet you can also use it on less obvious blemishes or discolouration, just by using less product.

Rather large statements are made by the product, as it claims to be full coverage, creaseless, waterproof and long wearing. There is no doubting the coverage of this concealer, its definitely the highest coverage I have ever come across with any concealer, I have had no problems with creasing under my eyes, however I have set it with my "Rimmel Stay Matte" powder. I haven't fully experimented with the product to check if it is full waterproof, however I did take a dip in the pool whilst wearing the product and I didn't see too much damage to the area's I applied it to. Again when it comes to the longevity of the product, I did set it with a powder which may have elongated the wearing time, yet it still lasted all day long and overall I think it is a fantastic product.

Moving on to a cream blush I have been loving recently, the "Nars Multiple in Orgasm". I have been lusting over the Nars Multiples for some time now, I desperately want to try out "Laguna" but when I was away I decided to pick up a blush shade. I had heard lots of positive reviews about the powder formula of "Orgasm", yet I hadn't heard anything about the multiple version, so I decided to try it out for myself. Surprisingly, considering the shade is quite a shimmery pink, which I think is great as it acts as a highlighter too, it looks so natural on the cheeks. I think this is down to the creamy formula as it blends beautifully, I simply swipe the product straight onto my cheekbones from the stick and blend the blush with my fingertips. This way it leaves it gorgeous natural pink glow on the cheeks, however it is also very build-able incase the subtle look isn't for you.

Now I don't know whether the next product counts as beauty but I have been absolutely obsessed with it over the past few weeks. It is a hand sanitzer from "Bath & Body Works" in "Warm Vanilla Sugar" now to all you Americans Bath & Body Works hand sanitizers will probably be no big deal, yet to us Brits a hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works is pure heaven.

Now that were heading into A/W it won't be long before everybody starts getting poorly so its important to try and prevent this as much as you possibly can.. what's better than a hand sanitizer that smells HEAVENLY?! There isn't much more to say than god I wish we had these in the UK! For $1.75 they are so worth it and warm vanilla sugar is definitely my fave scent, I really wish I had bought the candle version!

Last but not least isn't something I picked up in America, I actually picked it up when I popped into Boots recently, but so far I have been absolutely loving it! Autumn/Winter cannot come quick enough for me, as you can probably tell as i'm already buying dark lipstick and talking about candles haha! Rimmel lipsticks never disappoint so I knew I was in for a treat when I picked up the Kate Moss lipstick in number 30. What more can I say than it is the most beautiful autumnal colour and the quality is amazing considering the how affordable it is!

So thats all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed having a sneak peak into my current favourites and stay tuned for more posts!

The Last Outfit Of Summer.

Sunday, 7 September 2014

Hello everybody! So as autumn, my favourite season fashion wise, is approaching, I thought there was no better way to end the summer with one of the hit trends of summer 2014, all white. Personally, I adore all white, I think it is an amazing way to make a statement without being too overwhelming, you instantly look clean cut and sophisticated. However on this occasion I decided to take a more casual approach, as I was going to the theatre that afternoon to see "Sister Act" which may I say was absolutely AMAZING and would definitely recommend the show to everybody! Anyway, I didn't want to be too over dressed as it was an afternoon performance, so I decided pair my white Zara skirt with a stripy tee from the Zara TRF section, which added a slightly nautical and monochrome vibe to the outfit, plus I love stripes, they are a classic timeless print which will suit anybody, of any age!

The show was held as the most gorgeous venue in Leicestershire, which I had never been to before but its in the heart of the rural English country side. We were so lucky with the weather- for once in England, the sun was definitely on our side and was beaming down making the day so lovely. Although, you can never fully depend on the English weather, so I made sure I had some sort of cover up incase I got slightly chilly. I wore this gorgeous faux fur gilet from Zara, which is a perfect transitional piece to head into autumn, it really added an effortless edge to the overall outfit.

Shoe wise, I decided to stay uber simple and wear my hightop white Converse, which I never seem to wear, so on this occasion I decided to make an effort and get them out as they have been collecting dust for the past few months. Surprisingly they were super comfy and had allot of support around my ankles which was great as I had quite a bit of walking install for me that day. They might not be everybody's cup of tea, they certainly aren't my usual go-to shoe, however I honestly really enjoyed wearing them!

As far as makeup, hair and accessories go, there was nothing crazy going on, I kept it simple with my gold Micheal Kors necklace, which I got for my birthday a few months ago. I also added a few loose curls, which dropped and turned into effortless waves, with my Babyliss loose waving wand, which I found for a bargain at £9.99! My makeup again was simple with a nude lip which was "Pure Zen" by "MAC" which is my all time favourite nude lipstick!

So thats a wrap! I hope you enjoyed my first ever blog post, I will definitely be blogging frequently aswel as doing my YouTube videos so I hope you guys enjoy!

PS- I hitched a lift with the lovely man on the golf buggy haha!
