Whenever braids are mentioned I immediately think of the scene out of "Matilda", you know the one..
I can't be the only one who to this day is still scarred from watching this as a child, I mean can you imagine the pain?
Apart from the abuse from Miss Trunchbal, I mainly associate braids with pre effortless boho waves, pretty much every Youtube video with the title "heatless waves" includes some form of braid which you then leave overnight, wake up, undo the braid and ta dah your a beach babe. However, one of the main parts of the process is taking the braid out.. you wouldn't really think about leaving the house.. would you?
Well think again, braids are officially cool. From the runway to magazines, even Topshop now have their own "Braid Bar", braids are everywhere, and I'm obsessed.
What I didn't realise is the variety of different braids you can have, from 90's tight corn rows to loose boho chic, there really is something for everybody. Plus the best part is, the longer you leave them in the more effortless and beachy they look, making them ideal for festivals or if your just bit lazy! Perf.
